Race Commissioner launches NRL's involvement in 'Voices of Australia' project
Race Discrimination Commissioner Tom Calma will launch the National Rugby League's (NRL) involvement in the 'Voices of Australia' project in Sydney on 24 August.
As part of the project, a selection of NRL stars including Darren Lockyer (Brisbane Broncos), Steve Price (New Zealand Warriors) and Hazem El Masri (Canterbury Bulldogs) share the stories of their experiences to encourage greater understanding and friendship between people of different backgrounds.
Players are also featured in a poster showing them working together as equals on the sporting field.
The event will be hosted by Parramatta Eels star Dean Widders in his role as National Aboriginal Sports Corporation Australia (NASCA) director, who has been a driving force behind the 'Voices of Australia' project.
