Notice of application for temporary exemption:
BOYSTOWN
The Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission ('HREOC') has received two applications from Boystown (ABN No. 11 102 379 386). These applications (attached in Word format) are for:
- a temporary exemption pursuant to s 44(1) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) in order to employ a woman in the position of Youth and Family Worker.
- A temporary exemption pursuant to s 44(1) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) in order employ a man in the position of Youth Construction Trainer.
Both exemptions are sought for a period of five (5) years.
Requests for submissions
HREOC is presently considering this exemption application, and invites interested parties to make submissions, preferably by email to legal@humanrights.gov.au.
Submissions may also be addressed by mail to the Legal Services Unit, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
Submissions must be received before 24 August 2008. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
To promote open public discussion and exchange of views, HREOC intends to post submissions made electronically on its Internet site. Any requests for material to be treated as confidential should be clearly indicated.
