Judging process
A panel comprising representatives from the Commission, the government and the community will judge the Human Rights Medal, Young People’s Human Rights Medal, Law and Community categories. A panel comprising representatives of the Commission will judge the Literature (non-fiction), Radio, Television and Print Media Awards. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Certificates of Commendation may be awarded at the discretion of the judging panel. A shortlist for each award category (excluding the Human Rights Medal and the Young People’s Human Rights Medal) will be published on the Commission’s website at www.humanrights.gov.au/hr_awards at the completion of the judging process.
The 2008 winners will be announced at the Human Rights Medals and Awards luncheon ceremony to be held on Wednesday, 10 December in Sydney. Information about the 2008 luncheon awards ceremony and how to purchase tickets can be found at www.humanrights.gov.au/hr_awards or by calling (02) 9284 9618.
