October Over 18 Winner - Phil Greenhalgh's 'Another Big Day' |
Thirty-year old West Australian Phil Greenhalgh is the October winner of the over-18 category for ‘Another big day.’
Phil says he was struck by the image of the two boys on their way to school in Varanasi, India, with packed lunch in hand and full of energy for a big day of learning and mischief!
“I love how eager and proud they look to be starting a new day together,” Phil says.
Meanwhile, 16 year old Ally Murillo from Queensland won the under-18 category for ‘Bleeding the Black.’
Ally says the image is about people of different races being discriminated against for the colour of skin.
“They go through an emotional ride of their life not being happy for who they are and are so broken that they want to become a different colour,” she says.
